Pinterest in real life!

Hey y'all -

It has been QUITE some time since I've been around here and I have a valid excuse ... it's a 4 letter word though ... {w.o.r.k.} It's kept me busy and a little crazy, but that's life!

As I find myself referencing Pinterest for my daily activities {haven't decided if that is good or bad yet} I just wanted to share how it has come into my home ... {aside from creating a modern day "Barbie Dream House" online} & show a little "theirs -v- ours"!

1.) Polish that silver ... found a great post/tutorial for how to polish your silver without scrubbing or using Pineola. Well, it somewhat worked but not something I'd recommend over again. Turns out, nothing is as great as elbow grease when the silver needs shining.

2.) Cupcake wars ... I absolutely hated storing my cupcake wrappers under the cabinet in a box from IKEA ... it just doesn't inspire much under there. So, thanks to Pinterest, I scored a cute little vintage cookie jar and plopped all those colorful wrappers in it! It sits proudly on the top of the fridge for a little "pop" of color!

3.)  Shutter Island ... In dire need of some "art" of some sort in our dining room -  A and I set out to find some antique shutters. And find we did - scored these babies for a mere $30 total, added ceramic vases from Home Goods (clearance $2 each) and voila! Dining room art that frames our kitchen "window"

4.) What's For Dinner ... Never ask that question again! {at least not on a daily basis} A created this precious menu board from a frame that was lying around the house, some cute scrapbook paper and stickers and taaa-daaa ... Menu Board that works with dry erase markers. Now we take turns coming up with our menus each week {usually involves a Pinterest recipe}

5.) Soap So Pretty ... never really thought to put my hand/dish soaps and brush on a pedestal before, but it works and it keeps the counter clutter-free! Plus it's a great excuse to use my cake stands!!
